Community Accountability on Family
Violence Issues
Everyone has a role in preventing
family violence. Let someone from Family Services visit with your group
or business about your role in supporting victims of family violence and
working to prevent it.
Audience: Any Audience
The Medical Professional's Role in Family Violence Issues
Medical Professionals play an
important role in supporting victims of family violence. Trained staff
can speak to your medical staff on the importance of playing an active
role in the war against family violence.
Audience: Medical professionals
Healthy Dating Relationships
Relationships can be difficult at
any age. Family Services wants to reach young people as they begin
dating relationships and educate them on important relational issues,
including recognizing abusive behavior in a dating partner.
Audience: Any school or youth organization
Bullying
The first stages of a violent
lifestyle is often bullying. Family Services' staff is available to talk
with young children about bullying, including why a student should not
bully others and what to do if you or a friend is being bullied.
Audience: Elementary Students
Holding the Bully Accountable
Parents and schools must hold
bullies accountable at a young age to end the violent behavior. Trained
staff is available to consult with school administration and faculty on
the importance of holding bullies accountable and effective consequences
for bullies.
Audience: All school personnel
Anger Management
Trained Family Services' staff is
available to talk to your group about effective anger management
techniques and alternative methods of coping. This can be great
information for the busy, and perhaps stressed, average person; however,
it is not recommended as a source of treatment for a person with a
serious anger management problem.

Preventing Violence in the Workplace
Trained staff can teach employees
the red flags of anger and how to manage it with those they supervise or
employ and where employees can go to get help. Family Services' staff
can also help businesses develop a model policy concerning violence in
the workplace.

Stress and Parenting
Peace at Home Parenting is a
rewarding job, but often it is also a stressful job. Let Family Services
teach you and your group about some positive parenting techniques that
are sure to be a help in those difficult situations. Audience:
